Finding positive statistical data is a difficult challenge however, thanks to some great work at StrongGuard Security UK HQ, we are beginning this Cheshire “Lighthouse” newsletter, with some great positive findings.

In the reported figures for anti-social behaviour across Cheshire Dec 20 to Nov 2021, there were a total of 22,237 incidents however from Dec 21 to Nov 222 this number had come down to just 14,408. This is a considerable decrease of 38%.

Its a postive to be able to report that 4 other reported crimes and seen decreases when comparing the same period.  Public Order Offences saw a decrease of 13%. Robbery was also down by 13%.  Violent and Sexual Offences as well as Criminal Damage and Arson both down by 4%.

Anti-Social Behaviour was down by 38% across CheshireStats compared between 2021 & 2022

That’s were the positives end from a crime reporting perspective. The subsequent statistical data unfortunately highlights that in the 7 other categories there had been an increase in reported crime ranging from 0% to 47%.

Althouth its only 11th on our list in terms of number of crimes reported, Possession of Weapons, throughout 2021 (290) had an increase of reported crimes the following year of 47% (425).

This increase puts Possession of Weapons at the top of the list if we look at the percentage increase for reported crimes.

Reports of Possession of Weapons across Cheshire increased by 47 % in the years between 2021 and 2022

As well as Possession of Weapons being an established issue for concern, a worrying pattern that is emerging, particularly for business owners and retail premises is the increase in Shoplifting..

Shoplifting has seen an increase of 17% between 2021 and 2022
